It is a simple mixture of water, sugar and lemon that is perfect for you if you have sensitive skin or if you are prone to ingrown hairs.

The same ball of paste is used for your entire service. It is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed with an expert flick in the direction of growth.

Sugar paste is used at a lower temperature than waxing leaving the treated area less irritated.

It also goes into the hair follicle, cleaning out anything that is in there and keeping your skin healthy.

Sugar is our choice for both Brazilians and brows.

Sugar never attaches to your skin eliminating the worry of lifting skin on the delicate brow area. And your skin will be less pink after a brow sugar.

For the Brazilian, sugar is cooler, goes into the hair follicle cleaning it out and pulls in the direction of growth causing less hair breakage. All this gets you longer-lasting results, less ingrown hairs and less irritation. It is also takes less time than waxing.

WHY SHOULD I SUGAR VS. SHAVE?

Sugaring done consistently will change your hair! It will come in sparser, finer & slower the longer you stick with it. Shaving cuts off the hair leaving stubble & feels prickly when growing in. It also can cause skin sensitivity & increase ingrowns. Plus, it doesn't change the thickness or quantity of hair.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY SUGAR APPOINTMENT?

Let it grow! Exfoliate a few times a week. Moisturize daily. No tanning 24 hours before/after. Let us know about any topical products that contain retinols/AHAs and all medications. Take a deep breath. We have seen it all, we don't judge. We promise to be professional, efficient & thorough while providing conversation to distract.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE?

Hair needs to be 1/4-1/2 inch for best sugaring results. Typically this is at least 2 weeks from last shave. We find that you are most satisfied with the results after growing your hair for 3 weeks. We know it is hard. You can do it. Put the razor down. Be strong.

HOW LONG WILL I BE HAIR-FREE?

This varies depending on the area sugared but you can expect to be hair-free for a minimum of 1-2 weeks. Underarms typically have a few hairs coming back week 2, Brazilians typically it will be week 3. New hairs are just that, new! So they have a soft tip & do not feel like stubble coming in.

DOES IT HURT TO GET SUGARING?

Everyone's pain tolerance is different. Most clients chat with us like we are out having coffee. But, let's be honest, we are pulling hair out from it's root. And you feel a short, stinging sensation after each pull. The good news is, it's short-lived discomfort. When you leave you have had a soothing cream applied & your skin is so smooth. If you are consistent with your sugaring the discomfort is greatly reduced too because there is less hair & thinner hair.

Pro Tip: With sugaring the application is against the hair growth and can pull the hair. Let your Smooth Operator know if this part is hurting and they will adjust the speed to make it better.

Bonus: Sugaring is faster than waxing for a bikini or Brazilian service.
