Brazilians & Brows - Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all appointments, services, memberships, purchases, and visits with Brazilians & Brows (“we,” “us,” “our”). By booking an appointment, joining a membership, purchasing services, or visiting our location, you agree to these Terms.


1) Appointments & Booking

  • Appointments may be booked online, by phone, or in person (availability varies).
  • Appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Please arrive on time and ready for your service.
  • We may require a valid credit/debit card to be kept on file to schedule or hold appointments.

2) Card on File, Deposits & Authorization to Charge

By booking with a card on file, you authorize Brazilians & Brows to charge applicable fees as described in these Terms, including late cancellation, same-day rescheduling, no-show fees, declined payment fees, and membership charges (if enrolled).

  • Your payment method may be processed through a secure third-party payment processor.
  • If your card is declined, you remain responsible for the balance owed.

3) Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy (Appointments)

We understand life happens. As soon as you know you can’t make it, please let us know—often we can help modify, reschedule, or cancel your appointment, and your spot may make another client’s day. 24-hour notice is kindly requested.

No penalty:

  • Free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before your appointment time.

Fees:

  • Within 24 hours of the appointment time: we reserve the right to charge a fee of 25% of the scheduled service total.
  • Within 2 hours of the appointment time OR no-shows: we reserve the right to charge a fee of 50% of the scheduled service total.

How to cancel/reschedule:

  • Changes must be made through our booking system, by phone, or by contacting us at hello@braziliansandbrows.com.

4) Late Arrivals

  • If you arrive late, your appointment may be shortened to respect the next client’s time. You may still be responsible for the full service price when applicable.
  • If you arrive too late for us to safely or reasonably complete the service, it may be treated as a no-show and subject to the no-show fee listed above.

5) Service Refusal & Safety

We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or stop a service for safety, health, hygiene, contraindications, or inappropriate behavior. Standard cancellation/appointment charges may still apply when appointment time is held and contraindications were not disclosed in advance.

6) Client Intake, Consent & Medical Disclosures

You agree to complete all required intake forms and provide accurate, truthful information.

General Service Consent (Summary):
You understand the service(s) you receive are for esthetic procedures including hair removal (waxing, sugaring, tweezing, laser hair removal), tinting, and/or treatment of minor skin imperfections at the epidermal level. You acknowledge risks may include uncomfortable or unfavorable results such as allergic reactions, irritation, burns, scarring, soreness, etc. You assume these risks freely and agree that you will not hold Brazilians & Brows or any of its employees responsible. If you experience pain or discomfort during or after the session, you will immediately inform us. You affirm that you have stated all known medical conditions, answered all questions honestly, and will keep the practitioner updated about any changes in your medical profile.

Sun/Service Timing Acknowledgement:
You understand you should avoid direct sun exposure or tanning within 24–48 hours of waxing, sugaring, laser hair removal, peel, or dermaplaning services. You also understand you should not have microdermabrasion, peels, or dermaplaning 3 days before/after said services.

7) Laser Hair Removal Informed Consent & Required Acknowledgements

If you book or receive laser hair removal services, this section applies in addition to all other Terms.

7.1 Laser Hair Removal Informed Consent

By booking and/or receiving laser hair removal services at Brazilians & Brows, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. Procedure Explanation & Questions
    A licensed professional has explained to you the nature, goals, limitations, benefits, and possible complications of laser hair removal, as well as alternative forms of treatment. You have had the opportunity to ask questions and they have been answered to your satisfaction.
  2. Elective Procedure / No Guarantee
    You understand laser hair removal is elective. Results vary by individual and no guarantee can be provided regarding outcome. The purpose is gradual and cumulative hair reduction over multiple sessions and may not produce complete permanent hair removal.
  3. Eye Protection
    You understand your eyes must be protected from intense light during treatment and you will have your eyes covered with an opaque material or wear laser protective glasses.
  4. Medical Contraindications & Your Responsibility to Disclose
    Laser hair removal is not recommended if any of the following conditions exist, including but not limited to: pregnancy or nursing, photosensitivity disorder, immunosuppressive disease, diabetes, bleeding disorder, seizure disorder triggered by light, active herpes, active shingles, or any other infection.
    You understand it is your responsibility to notify the treating licensed practitioner of any of the above conditions and provide your complete medical history.
  5. Tanning / Sun Exposure Restrictions
    You understand treatment is not recommended for tanned patients until the tan has faded and sun exposure must be avoided between treatments. You confirm you have not tanned, and will not tan, in areas to be treated before and after treatments (including sun exposure and tanning beds). Artificial tanning products (self-tanner/spray tan) must be discontinued 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  6. Risks & Complications
    You understand possible risks and complications include, but are not limited to: pain, scabbing, scarring, blistering, burns, drug reactions, purpura, hypopigmentation (lightening), hyperpigmentation (darkening), and increased temporary susceptibility to sunburn. You understand that if these occur, they are usually temporary and may resolve within days or weeks.
    You also understand tattooed permanent makeup in the treatment area may darken, and decorative tattoos may lighten.
  7. Expected Temporary Reactions
    You understand that immediately after treatment the treated area may appear red and have edema (swelling) that may last up to 2 hours or longer, and redness/erythema may last 2–4 days.
  8. Aftercare Responsibility
    You understand improper care of the treated area may increase the chance of scarring or skin textural changes, and this has been discussed with you.
  9. Equipment/Mechanical Issues
    You understand that, occasionally, unforeseen mechanical problems may occur and your appointment may need to be rescheduled. Brazilians & Brows will make every effort to notify you prior to your arrival.
  10. Photography Consent (Optional but Included Here as Provided)
    You consent to photographs being taken for evaluation of treatment effectiveness, training, marketing, media stories, and advertising. No photographs revealing your identity will be used without your written consent. If your identity is not revealed, photographs may be used and displayed publicly without additional permission.
  11. Copies of Instructions
    You acknowledge you have been given copies of both pre and post care instructions.
  12. Confirmation of Understanding
    You certify you have read and fully understand this consent, have had ample opportunity for discussion, and all questions have been answered to your satisfaction. You consent to the terms of this agreement.

7.2 Laser Hair Reduction Pre & Post Care Acknowledgement

You acknowledge you have read and agree to follow the pre/post care instructions below:

Before Laser Treatment:

  • Avoid the sun for 4–6 weeks before/after treatment. Use sunscreen daily.
  • Discontinue tanning creams, tanning beds, or bronzers before & during treatments.
  • Avoid facial irritants (Retin-A, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic acid, astringents) for at least 2 days prior.
  • Do not get electrolysis, tweeze, sugar, or wax for at least 4–6 weeks prior.
  • Do not bleach or use “Nair”-type products for 2 weeks prior.
  • If you have a history of herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy must be started the day before treatment and continued 1 week after treatment.
  • Shave 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  • If possible, do not wear makeup prior to facial laser hair removal.

After Laser Treatment:

  • Redness (erythema) and swelling (edema) may occur and last 2 hours or longer; erythema may last up to 10 days. The area may feel like a sunburn for a few hours after treatment.
  • Apply ice as needed in 20-minute increments.
  • Hydrocortisone may be used 3–5 days post-treatment to ease itching/swelling.
  • No heat (saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, extremely hot showers) or strenuous activities; avoid prolonged heat for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure to reduce risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation. Use sunscreen throughout the treatment period.
  • Do not pick or scratch the treated area.
  • Do not use hair removal methods that disturb the follicle (electrolysis, tweezing, waxing, sugaring). Shaving is permitted.
  • Avoid facial irritants (Retin-A, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic acid, astringents) for at least 2 days.
  • Treat skin gently for at least 24 hours after treatment.
  • Apply soothing serum or aloe for sunburn sensation.

If you experience any of the following and have concerns, contact us at 812-917-2845:
Pain, scabbing, scarring, blistering, burns, drug reactions, purpura, hypopigmentation (lightening), hyperpigmentation (darkening), or sunburn/increased sun sensitivity.

What to expect from treatments:

  • Laser destroys only hair roots in the active growth phase. For best results, treatments are repeated every 4–8 weeks depending on the area treated.
  • The average course is 5–8 treatments, depending on the amount and character of the hair.
  • Some hairs are expelled during treatment; others release from the body in 1–3 weeks.
  • When ~90% reduction is reached, you transition to maintenance to target new growth, not regrowth.

7.3 Medical Information Accuracy Confirmation

You confirm that all medical information you provide is accurate and true, that you have disclosed all known medical conditions, medications, and relevant history, and you agree to update Brazilians & Brows of any changes before each appointment.

8) Results & No Guarantees (All Services)

Results vary by person due to hair growth cycles, hormones, skin type, and adherence to aftercare. We do not guarantee specific outcomes or timelines.

9) Retail, Packages, and Refunds

  • Services and memberships are non-refundable once rendered/used.
  • Retail return/exchange policy: Unopened/unused products may be returned within 90 days for a full refund. Used products may be returned with a 40% fee if less than 25% of the product has been used/emptied.
  • Gift cards and promotional offers are non-refundable and may have restrictions where allowed by law.

10) Brazilians & Brows Membership Terms (If Enrolled)

11) Waiver & Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that Brazilians & Brows is not responsible for any injury or loss of property suffered while receiving treatments, participating in activities, or while on the premises, whether resulting from negligence of Brazilians & Brows, its agents, employees, independent contractors, representatives, or any other person or entity.

12) Minors

Clients under 18 must have parent/guardian consent on file and may require a parent/guardian present depending on the service. We reserve the right to limit services for minors.

13) Communications (Email/Text)

By booking, you consent to receive appointment confirmations, reminders, and service-related communications via email and/or text. You may opt out of promotional messages at any time.

14) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version posted on our booking site applies to future bookings.

15) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
